Fall of Fort Louisbourg
1719 - 1745 Fort Louisbourg has just begun to be built by the French in New France. The actual cost for the Fort is 300% the cost as anticipated by the French government. The Fort is finally finished in the year of 1745, though the fort does not last long under the French... The war of Spanish succession begins in this year and Fort Louisbourg is captured and taken over by the British. But only 3 years later in 1748 the war ends in a loss by the British; for the loss of the war under the treaty Aix-la-Chapelle the British are forced to return Fort Louisbourg back to the French. In 1750 Fort Louisbourg is recaptured again by the British military, the British were lead by a man named Gereral James Wolfe who lead the British marines in little boats past the French ships and into Louisbourg eventually taking over control of it. The reason Wolfe was able to take over the fort was he snuck up from behind Louisbourg where the French defense was the weakest, this was a risky plan which worked out well for the British in the end. Eventually in 1760 Fort Louisbourg was blown up by the British in fear the French would return looking to take over the fort once again.
